Hi, I’m La Pham Nikita

I am a traveling henna artist and Safe Sex Superhero.

I started my life as a Vietnamese boat girl rescued by a Catholic church in the United States after the end of the Vietnam War. After 22 years in Detroit, Michigan under the loving care and protection of my parents – I broke free and set out to travel and experience the world or some might have called it, ‘a traditional Vietnamese Catholic girl gone wild.’ Shh, don’t tell my parents please.

I am a traveler of the heart, mind, and world. I lived, worked, studied and traveled for over 10 years in Asia, Europe, America and Africa. I am multi-lingual and have an insatiable appetite for good food, travel adventures, creativity and freedom. I love immersing myself in other cultures, the language, food, and traditions. I’m sometimes also called a gypsy/hippie/hobo/vagabond/free spirit.

I’m making up for lost time and enjoy teaching myself various creative arts and healthy activities: cooking, painting, drawing, modeling, screen-printing, knitting, dancing, foreign languages, photography, poker, tennis, snow skiing, camping, yoga, meditation, kitty cuddling, hammocking, drinking wine, eating cheese and olives, blogging, internet website stuff, and relationship dynamics.

I have worked undercover as an Americorps volunteer, a Fulbright researcher, a youth and environmental programs coordinator, a henna artist, a sushi roller, a translator, biology lab assistant, a Hostelling International worker in Boston, United Artists movie theatre sales girl, a Banana Republic sales girl, a shoe store sales girl, Girls’ Scout leader, ESL teacher, Ruby Tuesday’s server … I am now working deep undercover as a cubicle-dwelling state employee in Austin, Texas.

My story is your story too. We are all looking for love, peace, and happiness.

I spend my time exploring the Texas country and plotting my next mega-mission – my life and how I will transform it!
